I’ve had clients who’ve almost been taken advantage of by online lenders. I strongly recommend buyers use a local lender and one that is recommended by your Realtor.

“There has been significant lender pullback or outright exit from certain segments of the mortgage lending market, particularly from the highest-margin products,” the company reported.

My guess is that “the highest-margin products” included a lot of sub-prime loans, and stated-income loans for fully employed borrowers [read: fraud bait].
