Here’s another way to look at Case-Shiller’s price tiers for Phoenix area homes.
Low Price Tier
• 1999 prices – Nominal, unadjusted for inflation
• 1994 prices – Real, adjusted for inflation
Middle Price Tier
• 2001 prices – Nominal, unadjusted for inflation
• 1996 prices – Real, adjusted for inflation
High Price Tier
• 2003 prices – Nominal, unadjusted for inflation
• 1999 prices – Real, adjusted for inflation
I did the inflation adjustments myself, not Case-Shiller.
