The overall median stood at $482,000 in November, down 6.95 percent from the all-time high of $518,000 in November 2005

Later in the article they talk about prices (wildly flucuating) in areas that had only a few sales. That’s a waste of pixels. With such small samples, median and average prices are meaningless.
