(See recent posts on Phoenix Case-Shiller Home Price Index.)

I got 4 phone calls today inquiring about buying a home in the Phoenix area, 3 from Canadians. In addition, I received another solid inquiry online, also from a Canadian. I haven’t had that many solid inquiries in a single day since the boom.

By the afternoon, I started to put the pieces together and guessed that the new Case-Shiller U.S. home price depreciation story must have hit the Canadian papers and generated interest. All of the inquirers had been on one of my Phoenix MLS websites and were – I think it’s accurate to say – excited about Phoenix home prices. (Hmmm, I wonder if they are having a cold snap up there?)

Nevertheless, even before the Case-Shiller story, I had noticed inquiries were increasing. That could reflect better marketing on my part but the more important factor, I believe, is simply more buyer interest in Phoenix Arizona residential real estate in general.

I assume other Phoenix area Realtors are seeing the same thing.
