Paradise Valley top place to retire rich.

Nestled on 16 square miles between Phoenix and Scottsdale, Paradise Valley is probably better known for its dozen posh resorts, but it’s quite attractive to posh retirees, too. Its 14,000 residents, one sixth of them of retirement age, have median household income of $150,000 and live in homes recently selling for an average $1 million. Current residents include billionaire Campbell Soup heir Bennett Dorrance, 67, and ex-U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle, 66.
