But “the housing picture remains more worrisome, with existing home sales, new home sales, housing starts, and multifamily housing all experiencing year-over-year declines despite improving consumer attitudes,” says Doug Duncan, Fannie Mae’s chief economist.
One Response to Housing picture “more worrisome”
What is sad is Fannie Mae is run by an idiot. I just tried to buy a Fannie Mae held house that was in terrible condition. Their policy is to appraise the property and put it for sale. No offers under the ask will be considered. After 120 days they re-appraise and the 120 days starts all over. Once again no offers under ask to be considered. They must have a clerk in cube do the appraisal because this property would not appraise for any where near the ask in its current condition. Basically their policy is to just sit on the property for 240 days and then finally get reasonable and sell it. Your tax dollars at work.
