After the controversy of about the ugliness of Montelucia and the resulting backlash, the two new planned resorts will receive a lot more scrutiny than Montelucia did.
The project would have 295 rooms, including 205 guest rooms on the east side of the property, plus 90 two-story spa suites on the west side.
Mountain Shadows is south of Lincoln Drive and is bisected by 56th Street. Improvements would be made to 56th Street to make it safer and more pedestrian friendly.The guest rooms would be single story around the perimeter and two stories on the interior of the property.
In addition, there would be 26 privately owned, two-story resort patio homes on the west side of the property.
The only three-story element of the project would be three exclusive penthouse spa suites with sweeping views of Camelback Mountain
